In 2015, together with Road Television for Ulisse (Rai3), Terra Incognita visited a big cave in the Mediterranean, reachable only by the sea. Some young university researchers have worked, slept and lived for a month a year in the caves where the Neanderthal man lived 100.000 years ago, when there was not the sea but an immense savannah with huge and voracious speleo-hyenas that lived in men’s caves. Despite the difficult conditions of the underground life, far from the rest of the world, the scientists look for the hints of an extraordinary discovery: the proof of the existence of a Neanderthal cult of the dead. This is similar to our species.
